Solving the Right-Angled Triangle

A right-angled triangle (or right triangle) is a triangle in which one angle is exactly 90 degrees. This special property allows us to "solve" the triangle—that is, find all unknown sides and angles—using a minimum of two known pieces of information, as long as at least one is a side.

The sides adjacent to the right angle are called legs (sides a and b), and the side opposite the right angle is the hypotenuse (side c), which is always the longest side.
