How the Day Counter Works

The calculator offers two primary functions:

1. Count Days Between Dates

Use this mode to find the exact number of days that have passed between a start and end point.

1. Select the "Count Days Between Dates" mode.
2. Choose a Start Date and an End Date.
3. Optional: Check "Include end date" if the end day itself should be part of the count. This is useful for calculating things like hotel stays.
4. Choose whether to count All Days or only Weekdays.
5. Click "Calculate" to see the total.

2. Find a Date

Use this mode to determine a future or past date by adding or subtracting a number of days.

1. Select the "Find a Date" mode.
2. Pick a Start Date.
3. Choose to Add or Subtract days and enter the desired number.
4. Specify whether you are counting with All Days or skipping weekends by using Weekdays Only.
5. Click "Calculate" to find the resulting date.

Why Counting Weekdays Matters

For business, project management, and legal purposes, the concept of a "workday" or "business day" is critical. A 14-day deadline set on a Friday is very different if it includes weekends versus if it's "14 business days."
